Enjoy those World Series Rings St Louis. Won't be seeing anymore of those in the foreseeable future. Fat Albert goes to Halos for 10 years 250 million. Makes sense if your the Angels, he has to slow down eventually and he can finish up his career as a DH when he's 42

The 22 mil a year the Cards would have spent for Albert spent wisely can go to at least 2 good players. In 5 years the Cards are going to say thank goodness

I agree. Pujols is 32 next month and while short term the Cards are hurt in the long run they are better off not stuck with a 10 year contract for 20+ million a year.

You're an idiot. In professional sports it is far, far better to pay premium prices for the true elite because everyone else is grossly overpriced. What they should have done is not spent a shitload of money on Matt Holliday and instead locked up Pujols. There isn't any player in major league baseball you can sign for $8 million a year that makes up the difference between Holliday and Pujols. Meanwhile keep in mind that Holliday & Pujols were born one day apart.

Not arguing he's top 3 in the league but in 5 years when he's doing his best Jeter imitation batting .275 and 25 home runs the Angels will still be on the hook for 25 mil per for 5 more years. I would rather have given him 30 a year for 5 and stroke his ego by being the highest paid player in the league. Meanwhile AFraud still is

He's not playing shortstop, he's playing the least physically demanding position, and Jeter was never anywhere close to this level as a hitter. Again, Holliday is one day older and yet he got over $17 million per season for seven years from the Cardinals. Albert will be posting much better numbers than .275 / 25 in five years. In 8-10 years, maybe.
