Why do the guys dress so stupidly for the country awards shows?

I don't follow country music very closely, but I enjoy it. I saw a gallery of pics from a recent country music awards show and I was amazed at the stupid way most all of the guys were dressed. You have all of the women looking so glamorous and well put together...the guys usually have on ratty-looking jeans and maybe an ill-fitting jacket with a mismatched t-shirt or something like it....saw several guys with sneakers on. I don't get it...why be paired up with a gorgeous and glamorous woman and look like you just walked out of the Salvation Army store.

I know some will says that is what is in style...and that is my question. Why is something so stupid looking considered in style?

 

Because 98% of them are fucking rednecks.

 

Don't watch any kind of awards show but seems as though, they want to be like cowboys you know. If you stop and think about it.

I remember when all the guys would wear a nice pair of jeans, boots, a sleek button up and a cowboy hat. Those were the days when country music was a little less on the pop side of things though. Of course, I was little and looked up to that sort of thing back then, so I might not have paid a lot of attention to people dressed poorly.
