99% of people are one-step thinkers who want their immediate desires satisfied without consideration of consequences.

Well, unfortunately.....the consequences by not having a tournament is causing many within the Justice Department to launch an investigation into BCS practices.

I just don't understand. FCS, D2, D3, NAIA, NCCAA, NJCAA can have successful tournaments and crown their champions on the field. Yet in FBS, we have to settle it in the polls and only 2 can play for the title.

Again, get them all together, and let them duke it out on the field. Who ever is left standing....is the National Champion. The best team is the one left standing.

Sorry but there is no way in hell Im im giving va tech, west va, north ill, so car, southern miss, kansas st, la tech or ark st a chance to play for anything other than some crap ass bowl.

Teams like northern ill would have no one left after a 3 game run like you propose.

    Except that they aren't.

Tournaments are awful at crowning the "best team." I've already posted results from MLB, NBA, and NFL to prove that, plus anyone with a background in probability theory should already understand it given the nature of selection without replacement. Tournaments and playoffs were originally created to generate interest and revenue. College football already has plenty of both.

Except that's not true at all. People like you are either stupid enough to believe that the best team always wins, or dishonest enough to pretend that it's true when they know it isn't. The larger a sample size is, the more accurate the results. That's why a full regular season schedule is vastly superior in determining quality than a few games in December / January.

This way is not assured of crowning the "best team" either. Its still largely based on opinion. You may 'think' that the best wo teams are playing, but nobody can be sure without a doubt that they are. All you have is opinion. And contrary to your way of thinking, your 'opinion' is not fact. You'll never know if OkSt could beat either of the two ahead of them. Or Stanford, or Boise or whoever. Its all based on conjecture.

Agreed. Opinions are hearsay until substantiated by FACTS.

You might want to read an article before you link it. If you had, you might have noticed: "One antitrust expert who declares himself neutral in the case says he doubts Justice will launch a probe because it has a full plate of more pressing issues."

When you use words you don't understand, you remind people what a dumbass you are. Look up the word "hearsay" and then try to figure out why using it in this sentence made you look like an idiot.
