 Straight odds for one team to win the division over three other teams means that you think they're a strong favorite. You claim to know betting, so pretending that straight odds is equivalent with thinking it "wouldn't be a surprise" if Denver won the division is incredibly dishonest. You brought up a bet, Way Truth Life brought up reasonable odds, and you backed down. You have no one to blame but yourself.

I'll take it that as a "No, you won't take the straight bet".

No, you have it backwards dumbfuck. Anyone who thinks that "it wouldn't be a surprise if Denver won the division" is the one that thinks Denver is the favorite. You see, it's only a surprise when the favorite loses. Way Truth Life is the one who claimed it would "wouldn't be a surprise" if Denver won - so it's Way Truth Life claiming they are the favorite. Underdogs surprise - favorites win because they are supposed to.

Here's an example from tomorrow since you need it explained to you like a 6 year old. If you want to take Arizona on the money line against San Fran, you would have to lay 100 to win 425. Now, if you want to claim that "it wouldn't be a surprise" if Arizona won, I'm pretty sure most people would call you a retard. Again, the surprise would be if Arizona won. San Fran is the favorite. It wouldn't be a surprise if THEY won.

But it turns out that Way Truth Life must not really think it wouldn't be a surprise, anyway, because he has enough sense to ask for odds. Aside from being funny as hell - since he was the one that originally claimed it wouldn't be a surprise if Denver won the division - that's where the value comes in. Way Truth Life wants to claim that "it wouldn't be a surprise" - while also asking for odds.

The value on my part comes in by saying "no I'm not giving you odds, but I'll give you a straight bet". It's called baiting. I give credit to Way Truth Life for not taking the bait but I'm not sure you aren't so stupid that you won't take it so I'll offer again:

Anyone that wants to give me a straight bet on Denver winning the division...I will take that bet. That bet has value - for me.

You should stick to arguing arm strength with Mags.

Wow. It's one thing to be stupid enough for you to post that, but it's another to be so stupid that you don't even realize how it's going to embarrass you. I'll post this again for the benefit of you and anyone else who reads this board with a similar level of mental derangement:

Kshead, you really are impressively moronic. Anyone can say something dumb, but you take it to a very special level that is highly entertaining.

You colossal moron, watch any pregame show and when one of the analysts says "don't be surprised if _______ wins," it means they think the chances are plausible, but not likely. Again, it is a measure of how unbelievably stupid you are that you didn't innately realize that, and yet the fact that you continue to struggle with comprehending it that makes you so spectacularly retarded. Why would anyone have to qualify a statement by mentioning "surprise" if that team was considered a favorite? Seriously, try to be less of a complete idiot.

The general public doesn't like piety. Kurt Warner caught a lot of shit for the same sort of thing.

Ask anyone you trust either in your personal life or on this board if they think you're coming across as an idiot in this thread. I promise you they'll tell you that you are.

Gosh, the dreaded "ask around" post. Whatever shall I do?

Feel free to come up with something - hell, anything - that explains how an upset isn't a surprise. Good luck with that.

USC-Oregon is a perfect example. Oregon is clearly the favorite, but people shouldn't be surprised if USC wins since they were certainly capable of doing so. The upsets that really surprise people are the ones where the underdog was given no realistic chance, such as Iowa State over Oklahoma State, N.C. State over Clemson, Texas Tech over Oklahoma, etc.

Even as stupid as you are, you have to realize by now that you said something wrong. Do yourself a favor and stop posting instead of making it worse by convincing everyone that you're really so retarded that you can't understand this.
