    But it's not two picks. They didn't even own the pick they used on him. It COST us the 2011 2nd. If we had kept the 2011 2nd, it's not like we would have had the Patriots' 3rd in 2010 to use on another player. The net effect is that we traded Ras-I Dowling for Armanti Edwards.

    I am not saying it was a good pick. It's clearly not. But Armanti did not cost us two picks.

    Oh yeah. i edited to add that i am not saying it is a good pick. But it's not accurate to say that we gave up two picks to get him.

    Explain to me how, if your philosophy is to sign your own players and build through the draft, does it make any sense whatsoever to trade away draft picks? Maybe it's because I went to a 1AA school, but it's seem logical to me that if that is your philosophy then you would trade down and acquire more draft picks. You know... since you're building through the draft? I hate Hurney...

    Thought so...all this talk about worse personel decisions and no one remembers when the Panthers gave up two 1sts and commited $50 million (in 1997 cap dollars) for a DT who really wasn't interested in playing football any more.

    The point is that we never had to move up if we wanted to draft Armanti Edwards. We gave New England a 2nd round pick to draft a 1-AA QB in the 3rd round.

    Which is retarded.
