I never said JR was running the day to day operations. I suspect he's more involved in key decisions than you allow. Some are just too damn questionable and the fact that they continue despite JR's appearances at team facilities implies to me that he agrees with the moves. He certainly hasn't done anything to stop them. Unless you consider replacing his sons that move.

I think you do, but I don't think the villagers were just after the monster. They wanted the one that created it as well. Put Dr. Frankenstein's head on a pike with it.

I don't think JR told Hurney to overpay to keep Deagelo and the other FA activities. Or to take specific local talent. I do think he gave him the green light to spend to make us more competitive, after refraining to do so due to the lockout.

The buck on football decisions stops with Hurney, given a certain budget. JR's not an Al Davis or a Jerry Jones, never has been.

tried to stay at least hopeful about hurney. that may be over forever now. jr played, rivera played. maybe chico can get jr's ear. i think jr will trust chico more about football players than hurney. i fuckin hope so. but i'm hoping chico pans out too.

JR not firing Hurney isn't evidence that JR was the one making the decisions.

Yeah, that's what I've been saying. JR isn't aloof either, but the extent of his involvement seems to be giving some input and then supporting his employees until he decides that their performance is unsatisfactory. That's clearly not absolving Richardson, though, as it is his responsibility to remove Hurney if he believe that Marty was not performing up to expectations.

day to day was never said, though. That he had a major hand in what happens with the big money is essentially what he himself has said. And again, that was also not in reference to "Marty Hurney should/should not stay."
