This story mentions his weight issues are probably making his back and knee worse. He is likely done. When a really huge guys gets injured it is hard for him to come back, see Kris Jenkins.

I would go ahead and put Wharton at RT and try to scrap together some guards who can hold their own. No sense in getting Newton killed.

Hard to fault them for taking Otah. He obviously has the talent and the one year he was healthy our running game was electric. No one could know he would not hold up very long.

True, but it's linked to the old "why a RB that high" issue. We gave up a future first, that part is not so hard to argue with.

I agree that taking Stewart was a bad move. We already had DW. If they had more faith in DW back then we could have avoided a lot of bad moves. DW really should have been starting right away instead of playing behind Foster for two years. We did need a RT though. If you want to be a power running team you need a stout RT.

Ngata and Hampton have come back from knee injuries though, and played at a very high level, my guess it is has more to do with the success of the surgery and how good a players rehab is than their weight.

Btw, this makes three of his four seasons he's ended up on IR.

Apparently Hurney's willing to let him go for four of five. Says his knee needs rest and rehab. Did he not have a close to a year of rest and rehab before he got back on the field this year? Sheesh.

actually he played 25 games 08 - 09, both years we were 3rd in nfl in rushing.

    he's only 25, he'll be back.
