their secondary still sucks, so that's good. It will be another offensive led game on both sides so whoever makes fewer mistakes, which doesn't favor us.

I'm cautiously optimistic. This is the kind of game that McDermott's defense can be effective if the guys execute. Roddy White can't really go deep anymore, and without Julio the Falcons don't have anyone else who can either. Obviously the huge problem is containing Michael Turner, but if the team can force Atlanta into passing situations then they can flood the short zones and keep just a single high safety. Tony G is a beast in the redzone, but not much of a threat anymore between the 20s. Basically, it all comes back over and over again to limiting the damage from Turner.

For some reason, Otah being out just doesn't bother me anymore. Other than the wasted pick, ya know (cue: collin)

I wonder if our sea change philosophy was intentional as a trend ideal - not unlike how we changed to a running team so specifically in 02. Passing is so much more in - don't look now but the two run and shoot teams co-lead their divisions - and we're a good passing team, if not always a consistent passing team. I don't think I expected that we would be this pass happy this far.
