    Truth?

I would've said goddamn, we are playing sloppy. I would've been pissed. He decided at the last minute to change personnel to get a block in.

He needs to be cognizant of the time, given that they were in a mad rush to get into FG position. Why change personnel? I mean, why? Let them call the TO- oh wait, I don't think they had one.

Whatever, it's done. I'm moving on. It was a costly mistake.

RR admitted he over thought and called the TO because of the chance of 13 men on the field. Bet he doesn't pull that shit again. lesson learned.

I don't think I've seen an answer to this anywhere, but were there 13 men on the field for the first feld goal attempt?

There was 12... but not enough time to snap the ball... its not a penalty until the ball is snapped

I would remind you all that the ONLY reason that the Panthers came back from being down 10 was that bogus roughing the passer on 3 and 10. That changed the momentum. Without that bad call, the Panthers punt and the Saints drive down the field ONCE again and put the game out of reach. You all would be whining more than you are now if that kind of call was made against your defense.

The refs should have also flagged Smith for grabbing a player by his facemask and how do you pick up a flag after Graham was knocked to the ground after the play was over?

The league will come out and say they made a mistake just like they did when Richard Marshall was called for roughing against Cam. Why is the lague protecting Cam so much?

Mike Florio agrees that the Roughing call was total BS as well:

But a roughing the passer penalty extended the drive, which ultimately resulted in a touchdown that tightened the game to 23-20. The only problem? Saints defensive lineman Turk McBride did nothing that remotely would constitute roughing the passer.
Newton wasn’t hit with a helmet. Newton wasn’t hit in the helmet. Newton wasn’t hit in the neck. Newton wasn’t hit low. Newton wasn’t slammed to the ground. Newton wasn’t driven to the ground. Newton wasn’t hit by a defender who took more than one step before making contact.
In a season featuring plenty of missed roughing calls, Newton and the Panthers got a drive-extending gift. Short of making rougher the passer subject to replay review, there’s really no way to fix this one.
Maybe the best answer is to make roughing the passer subject to replay review

In my opinion everything about this team, other than the play from the QB, is worse this year than it was last year. The defense has taken a step back, the special teams are horrible, the running game has been off all year until DW had a good game yesterday.

All Rivera and company have done is turn Cam loose. Certainly that has been the right call but nothing else really impresses me.

Yeah, not totally buying it. Same would apply with a direct snap to Williams (which they're clearly not afraid to do) with a big body package out there. Be physical. I mean...I just don't totally buy it.

We snap out of the shotgun too, so we're actually placing the ball further away from the endzone? I guess he'll say it gives the line time to get into their blocks, but it also gives the D time to penetrate and engage into theirs.

Just don't like it, and don't buy it. To me?

    REEKS of politics ball.
