Afterward, Rivera challenged his team by saying some in the locker room weren't growing at the same pace as Newton. Nobody disagreed.

"He's the No. 1 pick for a reason. He's been outstanding so far this year, on and off the field," said left tackle Jordan Gross, who neutralized Peppers. "And I think it's right: If we had 11 guys that played as well as he has, that'd be great."

"But we've got to finish drives. We get down in the red zone or close to the red zone and end up trying to kick field goals. Miss one. Get one blocked. We should have won this game."

Uh ... Newton is why the team can't finish drives.

why do you seem to dislike Cam so much? He has flaws, yes. Jake was just as bad about a lot of shit but everybody is "well take the good Jake with the bad Jake". If 89 doesn't drop a TD or Shockey gets a PI that is two TD's. Two drives finished.

I know you have written pages about him, I'm sure. OK, when should Cam have all these mistakes eliminated? What game, this season? What is a reasonable learning curve IYO for him to fix all this stuff?

I believe Collin is harping on Cam's mechanics problems mostly (I'm not speaking for him), which may not ever be fixed, which is the main concern. It would be nice to see improvement there, but he still looks the same after 4 games. IMO, too early to diss him? Idk.

It could be the coaches know he already has a plate full, and hasn't harped on him about the flaws, because doesn't need to be thinking mechanics when the game is still fast for him and they want him playing and not overthinking right now. Again, Idk.

I'm sure Collin's concern is for his future and hopes, as we do, Cam pans out to be the best QB we've had, or can be. Poor mechanics can certainly put a monkey wrench in that.

However, I don't think we are losing because of him, or that he is the sole responsibility for stalled drives. I think we are losing in spite of his purty good play, because of other fascets of the teams, like run D, ST, poor ptackling, etc.

That and LA can't get to the sticks when he actually catches the ball on 3rd and whatever. Never mind his crucial drops and seemingly poor effort to go after the ball. But we're not losing becasue of LA (don't get me wrong), just pointing out poor play by others contributing to losing games.

Rivera is the same as Fox and every other NFL head coach. He's a company man who will use the company line. The Panthers' current company line is Cam Newton.

I'm currious as to what Cam and Olsen "got into it" in the locker room about.

It could get ugly if he starts pointing fingers at he failing fascets of the team, seeing as how he's been spoiled into not losing before (and by spoiled, I don't mean he didn't deserve to win,).
