Should have asked if Tom Brady is in Newton's class. Tom Brady didn't throw for 400+ yards in his first two starts.

Brady is the posterchild of what an elite QB is, was, and ever will be. Manning, Brees, Big Ben and Rogers are a step below but still elite. I like Rivers but he hasn't won enough in the playoffs. Brady has the rings and stats to back it up.

To me franchise qbs are a step over game manager but not elite. Rivers is a good example. Very good player over a number of years but not elite, yet. Marino for his career was elite because of incomparable numbers despite no ring, but is one of the very few exceptions.

Cam has a chance to be either, but 2 games is a bit early. If he has a couple years in a row with good numbers, low ints, and a good W-L record I'd say he's franchise. Elite to me has to be like 5 years or so at or near the top of the league to even be a consideration. The elite term is way overused and cheapens it for those who really deserve the title.

I have never seen you on this site before the other day so maybe you're and alt of someone and this is a big joke.

If it's not let me help you out...you're a homophobic, delusional moron who neither intimidates or impresses anyone with these gramatically challenged and threat laced rants.

I'm new here. I was a 49ers fan until Cam Newton was drafted. Does that make me less of a fan?

I'm new here too. Was kind of a Browns fan when I lived in that area. I'm just glad that Anderson isn't playing for Carolina right now. Newton is making it much easier to pull for the panthers. He's definitely dynamic and you guys finally have a natural born leader, whether he's a polished "elite" passer (or franchise) or not.
The Carolina Camrys will beat the jags this Sunday!
