I was kinda shocked to see Maryland above Va Tech. :weeping:

I blame all the departments at VT from which I didn't get a degree.

Hell UConn seems like a good fit then. up and coming football, GREAT womens basketball and defending National Champs in basketball. Hell the ACC is soon going to be Lacrosse super league with Syracuse, UVA, UNC and Maryland.

VT has moved up substantially on the academic rankings since it joined the ACC. (much to NCSU's chagrin)

And, don't forget, better than WVU.

I'd be a couch-burning Walmart manager somewhere outside of Morgantown today if I had gone to WVU on the 6 year plan.

But there isn't a good enough 16th team to bring in UConn with them. It would be cool if Notre Dame agreed, but I don't think they will.

I think you just contradicted youself. Pitt and Syracuse are good schools but if they were not bringing new TV markets, no deal ! Who you associate yourself with, see Miami. They were a dumpster fire before they joined the league and the ACC knew it.

Like I said... don't expect that to be there for them when the contact expires. They aren't winning so people aren't watching.

Not so sure about that. The current contract expires in 2015. The current contract was extended in 2008 when Notre Dame had only finished a season ranked 10th or higher just three times in the 17 years its home games have been televised on NBC. With ND, it doesn't seem to be about the wins and losses, at least with regard to the TV deal.
