I went to the UVA-WVU bowl game in Charlotte many years ago, but unfortunately had tickets in the WVU side. The Mountaineer fans were unbelievably vulgar and obnoxious, so I made a comment about how I wondered if WVU fans were still related after they got divorced. One lady responded that I shouldn't run my mouth when I was out-numbered, so I asked her how many hillbillies it would take to win a fight. I guess I'm lucky there were no Slys at the game.

    ACC Football

Whether FSU wins tonight or not. the way this game is going and the games throughout the day have went, I am more excited about ACC football than I have been in the past few years. Football seems to be back on the way up. The expansion with Pitt would help with football & basketball as well as with Syracuse.

Yeah, not really. Those teams are mediocre at absolute best in football. What they would do is expand the league's footprint and media markets, along with building up enough of a buffer to protect the league against being poached itself. But really, the main reason Syracuse & Pittsburgh are attractive is that the ACC already poached the best teams from the Big East, so it would be easy and efficient to create a division where those teams renew their old rivalries and play against teams in their geographical area. With the ACC being spread out like Fred's asscheeks, being able to do geographical divisions would be a big help for smaller sports.

    For Monday I assume, right?

Concerning WVU getting into the ACC: They would be a big boost to football attendance in the league, especially here on Tobacco Road.

The BIG EAST is about to go Poof; UCONN better get into the ACC before the door closes . . .

WHY UCONN NEEDS TO HOP TO THE ACC . . . NOW!!!:

How come the BE Commish didn't see this coming? You can beat your chest all day about how you had a good hoops conference, but he should've known football was pulling the college sports wagon from here on out. I guess the non football playing BE schools will have to form another conference soon, eh?

I think that teleconference is on tap for Sunday. If so, the ACC is being proactive on expansion (and keeping any stray members of thinking of jumping ship).

If they add WVU, UCONN, PITT, CUSE then I could see the ACC having the basketball champion every year for a while.

Football wise its a slight increase but there is word that Texas is looking into the ACC which would be a a good addition football/basketball wise. The problem with Texas is location but if Texas wants to join then you wouldn't turn them down.

I'm just glad the ACC is tryign to be productive and get to a 16 team conference and not sitting around watching other conferences grow.

I didn't think anyone could have a worse day than I did yesterday - maybe Victor Ortiz - but the Big East wins the shitty day award for Saturday.

Rumor is Texas will come if Texas Tech also gets an invite.

If I could pick two more I would go for Penn State and Notre Dame.
