The Thing

Now I want to see the 1951 original. Evidently, "the Thing" in the original was actual human like alien and in the 82 and now 2011 version "the Thing" is a parasitic beast that lives within its human hosts.

 

I suspect that's QUITE a difference.

I don't remember a virus in the '51 flick; Arness's character could have spread one....Virus sounds more like a "modern" concept.

Remember the original "The Creature From The Black Lagoon?"
The creature was hookie as hell with the obvious skuba tank under the creature costume.lol

 

Versions of "The Thing" from the 82 movie. I knew it got to a dog.

 

That first pic, a rabid bat? is pretty scary. The other two look like bs.

 

The first one is the dog I mentioned earlier. The other two don't really do the movie "Thing" justice. You have to remember, this was in 1982.

 

Original The Thing 50s is a masterpiece but 80s Thing is tied for top spot all time (w/ Alien) on my horror sci fi list. Both of The Things so far have been incredibly awesome. I am betting they screw this one up but I'm staying optimistic.

 

Did you catch Chevy Chase, aka Fletch, in his cameo in the '82 The Thing?
