North Carolina’s “Meet The Heels” football event, scheduled for Saturday (Aug. 27) evening at 6 p.m., has been cancelled due to the potential for inclement weather and dangerous winds from Hurricane Irene.

“The safety of our players, coaches and fans is our top priority,” said Associate Athletic Director for Marketing Rick Steinbacher. “Coach Withers and the players were looking forward to interacting with our fans and members of the Carolina Kids Club. However, we have been in constant communication with various weather services and all the forecasts as of Friday morning are predicting the possibility of rain and high winds in the Triangle Saturday. We feel this is the best decision based on the information available.”

With the season starting the following week, the event will not be rescheduled.

    was ok.

Renner could have been a little more accurate with his throws.

Very nice game, it's the first game I have been to since they finished all the construction.

Renner, just wow! The one play on the interception it looked like the WR and QB weren't on the same page, not sure who was at fault. The D-line looked dominant as well. LB group looked good. The secondary not so much, it's going to be interesting to see what happens when they play a team that can match up well and actually block the D-line.

Watching the game again on ESPN3 and one of the things that stands out is the defense consistently making tackles. If you don't allow yards after contact, you should be in good shape.

Did they really give Butch Davis the game ball?

They're talking about that on the radio right now. Tom Sorensen just called Butch Davis a cheater. Poor Butch, gone but not forgotton.
