I said all last year we had no QB. Disliked Claussen as much as anyone else, but he really surprised me Sat night. No, he's not great maybe not even "really good" or above average, and you certainly can't predict the season based on one preseason game, but he looked better then last year's Claussen.

I hope Cam is a superstar in the making, but I would rather not see a rookie QB start his first season. The key here is "in the making". He has a lot to learn and I would love to have the option of letting him spend his first season learning on the sidelines.

So no, I am not of the Claussen camp, but he was definitely better then last year and I'd like the luxury of giving Cam a year to learn and improve his mechanics and ability to learn progressions/reads.

Cam is the future of the franchise, for better or worse, while Jimmy will never be accepted by the fans. The only reason they shouldn't play Newton is if they think doing so could hurt his development, which is possible. My point was simply that Clausen played a lot better than Newton on Saturday night, although that could easily change against Miami. Speaking of which, I'm very much looking forward to watching their cheerleaders.

Merril Hoge discussing on ESPN Newton's lack of accuracy affecting run yards/tds after the catch versus Mallet who is more accurate. Looking at the tape I see what he means. Completions are not the same as accurate completions. I guess it's logical to think Newton will become more accurate with experience and good coaching. What other rookie QBs struggled with accuracy but went on to correct the issues and become successful?

I thought as a board we had made fun of this enough to put it out to pasture

I would personally err toward immediate success. Can't do that and develop though.

Why do you say "we" when there aren't that many of you who bust my balls, and most of the ones who do are bitter about me making them look stupid? For instance, rake is still shitting his pants because he resents me for making him look like an idiot when he said that Shockey + Olsen might be the most talented duo in NFL history.

its been duly noted that you tried unsuccessfully to make me look like an idiot for claiming Mark Brammer and Tony Hunter are arguably one of the top five most splendid tight end duos of all time.

Look, Lainey made me look like an imbecile when she painted that handlebar mustache and monacle on me with a Magic Marker while I was sleeping in her garage. But I still enjoy ridiculing you because you're an ass-munching, booger-picking, hotdog-fingered, big-shot-wannabe, loud-mouth with poor hygeine practices.

Well not you. You bust everyone's balls, and you're naturally great at it.

Hey, I do not have poor hygiene. The rest is more or less accurate.
