Stating the obvious, really, but rake is also the guy who said that Olsen + Shockey was the best TE duo in NFL history.

 

agreed. Of course, most of the coaches picked up after 08 were compromises. We weren't totally familiar with why at the time.
Crossman was an emotional tie to the past that shouldn't have been running STs. Rodgers was better, but things seem crisper now. We'll see if it keeps up. Having coaches with some level of experience seems worthwhile, yes?
I was told Hoener has been a valuable coach in ST play also.

 

I mean, fair enough but that seems like the type statement that only has negative reward in its future. Or possibly an opportunity to scream at someone for days on end over shades of whatever level of superlative someone might be unfortunate enough to use.

 

Other than throwing off his back foot and looking like a rookie in general, my only concerning observation about Newton is that I noticed during the recorded interview that they played during the game that those nerd glasses he sometimes wears have some serious coke bottle lenses in them. I assume he must be wearing contacts on the field.
