why on earth would Mcnabbs opinion matter? He's been like a jilted lover since he left the eagles. He's just pissed they never went all in like this while he was under center. He's also the king of passive agreessive, and he just lost a ton of talent from his new destination.

The Panthers overpaid, across the board. With all the guys they signed, wouldn't at least a few of those contracts make you slap your head and wonder what the hell they were doing?

I am sure there is some bitterness towards the Eagles, but that does not discredit him on what it takes to win in the NFL. He points out that it takes a lot more than just signing other FAs and putting them all together.

The Panthers strategy is to build cohesiveness from within and pay the players who have served the franchise to build that chemistry.

Football seems like a sport where "chemistry" might not be so important. With sports like hockey and basketball, chemistry helps you "know" where your team mate is going to be. Football seems to be more about assignments and winning the one on one matchups.

Not totally discounting the idea... just think it is less vital in the NFL.

In baseball it would be less important, but I believe the NFL to be the ultimate team sport. Every position and player counts on one another for their success. Look at Steve Smith last year without a QB.

Two things I find foolish in sports journalism:

    1. Placing grades on anything.
    2. Predicting games w/final scores. (all for picks, but scores? c'mon)

Nothing like re-signing a 2-14 roster for money no other team in the NFL was even remotely interested in paying. Cam, Olsen, and Mare will surely be enough to make this team a playoff contender.

    More food for thought:
DeAngelo Williams is a better running back than Ahmad Bradshaw, but Bradshaw is three years younger and totaled 1549 combined yards along with 8 touchdowns last season. The Panthers signed DW for 5 years at $43 million with $21 million guaranteed. The Giants signed Bradshaw for 4 years at $18 million with $9 million guaranteed.

Anyone who wants to pretend like Carolina didn't royally fuck up free agency to the point that it screws the franchise for years to come simply has their head in the sand.

You need to get in the ropes, dude. Seriously. Someone needs to throw that out to the GM. Nobody is. (and I sure as hell ain't touchin' it.....self-preservation bro)
