Supposedly being cut by the jets so that they can sign Derrick Mason(espn). Worth a look? Will we take a look?

Cotchery would be an upgrade, but I don't think it will happen.

also the NCSU connection which will sell some jerseys, agree though, doubt it will happen, thinking this is a throw away year for the staff, expectations aren't high so see what you have in Gettis and Lafell

if we need a veteran, Cotchery is fine. We aren't going to be giving a #2 receiver that many looks.

Why no love for Gettis or Lafell? We have Smith and two tight ends who are primarily receivers on the roster.

    from a 2008 sonsofsimmons.com article:

    >>>Jerricho Cotchery was born with six fingers in his left-hand according to ESPN. Cotchery is going to be featured on a segment on ESPN’s E:60 tonight in which they discuss the path that Cotchery took to the NFL. The Jets receiver no longer has the sixth finger, and gave it to his parents for its biblical reference. Why didn’t he keep it ? I don’t know. But just think at all the advantages he could of had: better receiving skills, easier to give the shocker, and he could wear two pinkie rings on the same hand. More from ESPN:

From birth, New York Jets wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery always had a purpose. He was born with a sixth finger on his left hand, what his mother calls a gift from God that she believes showed a plan for his life.

“God’s purpose for Jerricho was to play football,” Katie Cotchery said. “I can think back when he was a little baby, and we were always wondering why he would always look at his hands. He would always do his hands like that and look at them.”

Cotchery, whose extra finger eventually was removed, was given his name by his parents for its biblical reference. The story of Jericho, as told in the book of Joshua, is a story of triumph in which after seven days the Israelites blew trumpets and shouted outside the walls of Jericho. The power of God, as written in the Bible, was with the Israelites, and the walls of Jericho fell.

Now it's upsetting to his parents who realize that their son could have been the next Jerry Rice and made a ton more money if they had only convinced him to keep that extra finger. Jerricho's father James states, "I bust myself upside the head several times a day, but Jerricho did buy my wife a nice Escalade, and I got a nice work bench . . . (sigh) a work bench."<<<<
