    • Watching Cam Newton Sunday night in Spartanburg, S.C., three things were evident: He's a confident kid, even though he doesn't know half of what he needs to know yet. He's very well-liked by the fans, and that's helped by signing as many autographs as any Panther in camp so far. And though his accuracy is very much a work in progress (he missed six or eight open receivers Sunday), he does throw a beautiful deep ball -- as he did to wideout David Gettis late in practice, a 45-yard throw that landed in Gettis' arms perfectly.

Not that I've seen and I think I've seen all the PK stuff put up so far today. No Camp Postcard yet, though, so maybe it'll be in there.

Sutton looked good today, on 2 big runs. Cam looked much better than Clausen. Clausen threw away a couple balls had a few tipped, and 1 intercepted. Cam broke loose for a big run and made some short completions. He also seemed comfortable in the pocket. I was surprised to see Lafell fielding punts, and Rivera chewed Irvin a new one for encroachment. I also watched Lawrence Wilson in LB drills, he looked smooth and fast, didn't see him much on the field though. Oh, and I got a Thomas Davis jersey for 6 bucks-which he didn't sign. I guess he was too tired from chatting it up with Beason, Anderson, and Gaither.

I gotta admit, the morning practice after last nights, to go with a 24 hour break that ends with a padded practice was a pretty solid way of doing things.
