Charles Johnson said that Atlanta's initial proposal wasn't anywhere close to the Panthers' number, and Denver announced that they were out of the DeAngelo running day before yesterday because the money was way too high for them.

what would a nationally televised source know about the NFL or contract value? He's probably not really thinking that, he's being intellectually dishonest to spite you.

You're being a bitch again to avoid admitting that the Panthers did something stupid. Again, the fact is that Charles Johnson himself said the Falcons came nowhere close to Carolina's offer, and the fact is that Denver dropped out of the DeAngelo race the day before he was signed because they said the money was way too high for them. That matters just a little more than a Chris Mortensen tweet, but I see why you would like to pretend otherwise.

yes. You're right. I am lying about my opinion, I don't really mean anything I've been required to repeat over and fucking over again. That seems logical given that I figured CJ and DW were going to sign for peanuts.

Whenever you're getting your ass kicked in an argument, you inevitably make ridiculous misrepresentations of the other person's position. If no one else offered Johnson more than $8-9 million a season, then giving him $12+ was obviously a mistake. If no one else was offering DeAngelo more than $7 million a season, then giving him $8.6 was a mistake. It's simple math.

By the way, note how smart Mark Dominik is being with the Buccaneers. The team wants Davin Joseph back and they obviously have plenty of cap room, but they're not rushing out to give him a record-setting contract. They're sitting back and letting the market for Joseph play out, then position themselves to beat out whatever offers there are.

the top FA at DE wasn't going to make $8 million in any class, much less a rip started one. I mean, work yourself into a froth, and you will, but I don't think that's realistic.

Do we have a choice at 2-14 last year? Any deal close to another team would make their decision easier to join a team with a better chance to win this year. We have to overpay them.
