He's also got the best Twitter account of any Panthers player by far...

yeah, his nonsense is on purpose. Norwood and Goodson have other plans.

I'm not against this guy starting this year at SLB if we need. Guy just does shit well.

I'd prefer to bring back Anderson and then have Connor for depth, but that depends on how much Anderson wants.

I honestly don't know there's much difference. This is the same Connor that had 15 tackles at SLB against the Pats in 09. Guy is, as linebackers go, almost flawless.

Dan Connor is "almost flawless"? Really? Jesus Christ, man, if you're going to exaggerate then at least keep it reasonable. Anderson is quicker, faster, does a better job of shedding blocks, and seems to have nose for where the ball is going. Hey, I'm as surprised as anyone that he's this good because I never expected it, but it's beyond time that you started giving him some credit. Anderson not only passes the eye test, but those football metric websites you love to link so much all say that he was one of the best linebackers in the league last season.

And for what it's worth, NFL.com and Yahoo! both have Connor with 11 tackles in that game against the Patriots if you include assists. This past season he also started at MLB against San Francisco and ended the game with 1 tackle. On a per game basis, he is far, far below the level that Anderson established in 2010 and 2009. I'm comfortable with playing Connor, but I like him a lot better as depth since he's clearly a step down from Anderson.

    Connor 2010 (7 games): 33 solo tackles, 1 sack, 0 interceptions, 0 forced fumbles, 1 pass defensed
    Anderson 2010 (16 games): 101 solo tackles, 3.5 sacks, 1 interception, 2 forced fumbles, 5 passes defensed

Oh, christ. You think you've caught me in some sort of lie or something so now you're going to spazz out.

Guy missed one tackle last year, which is more than just average. And sure, he had less tackles, because he was on the field less. Which Anderson would be, if he stays and Davis is healthy.

Now, if you're willing to pay Anderson as one of the best OLB in football, that's fine (as an added bonus I won't treat you like you would treat others for it), but in this particular case I don't think the difference is that great.
