Summary: The Panthers got a player I had rated as the No. 15 overall player on my Big Board with the No. 1 pick, a guy even Newton's personal quarterback coach says should be given at least a year to serve an apprenticeship at the NFL level. And yet, of course you have to be intrigued with the potential of Newton. No player in the draft has such an array of physical gifts, and Newton is drafted at No. 1 because the Panthers know he has an extremely high ceiling. So it might be tempting to say it all comes down to Newton, but you can't, because the Panthers really did address a few needs once they got their man. They needed help at defensive tackle, and added two of them early. They needed a wideout and a corner, and hit those picks later as well. The Panthers now have tough decisions to make at the quarterback position, the kind that could see them back drafting this high again next year, but they did some good things.

Best pick: Third-round defensive tackle Sione Fua is a power player who will help at a position of dire need.

Questionable move: Taking Cam Newton with the first pick in the draft after taking Jimmy Clausen last year. Newton is a very high risk-reward prospect.

Third-day gem: Sixth-round linebacker Lawrence Wilson was a productive player at Connecticut who will add speed to the linebacker group.

Analysis: Their draft will be defined by Newton. If he becomes a star, this will be a nice draft. If he busts, heads will roll. I like the pick of two defensive tackles after the Newton pick.

    Grade: C

Randomly had espnnews on. Guy starting a segment just said today's draft picks will rarely sniff the field. I'd like to strongly disagree

Fucking stupid exercise. How about this.....hand in a test to your teacher, with no answers to the questions, and randomly grade it. Nobody knows shit.

#1) You may not "know shit," but some of us do.

#2) What else are we supposed to do?

Collin: quit looking for a fight with me. You have Mags, Thelt and Brian Billick to fight with already. Only point I would make is this would be a better time to grade the 2010 draft, since none of the players picked this weekend have played one snap in the NFL. Sucks we're stuck with Cam, though. Hope you enjoy it.

Honestly not looking for a fight with anyone. I respond to stupidity, not the person behind it.
