Lol. But, yes, those were two shitty picks.

Hurney's not evaluating shit. Problem is, he appears to be pulling the trigger. That's problematic, and becomes more so with a new staff.

Then again, the great Bill Parcells picked (he did it) Pat White early.

They all fuck up. But, yea, Gantt does go out of his way to defend his pals/sources, probably to a higher degree than he should (or even needs to).

That's the point. Everyone misses on players, so I wouldn't kill the scouts for that. What Belichick doesn't do is trade future firsts for middle or late second round picks. He also doesn't trade future firsts and a current second for current firsts. I get that Hurney is emulating his idol in Beathard, but he's fucking up pretty consistently.

They need to stop trading away high picks and over reaching for players. I think we would have been alot better off just picking the best player available at the time.

Parcells, over the years, has been a very solid evaluator.

Definitely will be trades but hope not this one. Could definitely see trading up or down with 98 pick. 65 is likely too valuable to make fodder for a trade up.

    Bethard, ironically, picked Ryan Leaf.

I was referring more to the Washington tenure when he and Gibbs traded their first round picks almost every season. (Redskins used only two first round picks from 1982 through 1990)

    Word.

Speaking of some shit-ass drafts of the last 5-6 years: Redskins/Bears. Somehow, typically via-FA, the Bears have remained competitive. But, holy shit, Angelo and his staff has not really hit the mark. Same could be said for Denver.
