    Of course they know that they're reaching. Hell, Hurney has basically admitted to Newton being a huge gamble, but one they feel that they have to take. The Panthers' college scouts are way too good for the team to actually believe Cam is a top 10 pick. He's at the top of the board only because they have him as the highest rated QB over Gabbert & the rest.

    If this were true, I don't think we'd take him. I don't think Hurney would be able to put a lid on the kind of dissention that this would create.

    If the above is true, then you should feel relieved because all of this is just a smoke screen in a feeble effort to try and get a second round pick.

    If Dareus is the more sought after pick, then why the hell are we not making all kinds of noise about how much we like him in the hopes of scaring someone into trading up? I swear, sometimes this front office doesn't look like they could run a lemonade stand.

    Because Dareus isn't a consensous #1 pick. There is no consensous IMO, this year. Of the top 10 teams, I could easily see 5 players being ranked #1 overall on those teams boards.

    It would do absolutely nothing more than piss Denver off to announce we are taking DD #1. No trade offers would come. Nobody wants to trade up.

    Fuck it, piss Denver off. Tell them we're taking Dareus and they can swap picks plus give up another if they want him. You know Fox wants him badly.

    No, then Fox just takes Peterson. And smiles when he does it.

    This is why gamesmanship to try and get a pick isn't going to work. Nobody wants our pick.
