Toe. Maybe. Hard to put juice in the throw without a solid foundation. I'm for giving him another shot if for no other reason to see if the toe was indeed the major issue with his inability to throw the football.

He wouldn't be my pick, but Carolina needs Cam Newton, or at least a player with his marketing potential. Outside of Jon Beason or Steve Smith, I can't think of one other player I'd pick to put on the front cover of the program. The alternative is to build a team that wins and wins consistently, and I have less faith that this will happen than I do in Cam Newton's ability to get the Panthers on national TV and sell a bazillions jerseys.

no goddammit. This has nothing to do with Clausen. Newton slowly sliding outside the top ten and then magically rocketing back up to #1 contention by the media isn't a Clausen issue.

The more I watch the games. The whole games...(thank you Jon and DVR, although it was late this year)...the more my gut is telling me Dareus or Green, but my hope is still telling me Cam.

btw, Im only catching what I can, which isnt a hell of a lot, of the top guys: Dareus, Newton, Green, Jones, Peterson. (no gabbert)

And I will say Im souring on Peterson. He is a badass...but his pure cover skills aren't super elite. I love him though, as an overall player, tackler, all of that. Love him.

But for me, it's these three...

    Green. Newton. Dareus.

Just say no to Cam Newton...too many if's to take him #1. Dareus or Green would be fine.

And I'll just say it, Rick Stansi in round 2.

I don't think he'll last that long or should I say, I wouldn't put money on it. But sure, If he's there.
The other option would be to trade down in the second. That top pick in round 2 is a high value pick to many NFL GM's.

We don't have our second. The Patriots do. Lol! That pick is on our squad already. His last name is Edwards. You may or may not know him...
