I was really happy when Cam's stock started dropping after combine. I can't remember what happened after that to make this a possibility again.

I mean for people to put their heads back in their ass to pretend Newton is a #1 overall QB.

There was only one college QB worth taking with the first pick but he decided to go back to Stanford. I don't want Newton or Gabbert with the first pick. I don't think either will be a franchise QB. They may turn out to be decent to good over the long haul which I guess may not be all that bad but you kind of expect more with the first overall pick.

I'm still of the mind that the Panthers will take Newton anyway just to create some excitement about the franchise after that godawful season we just had. That's a bad way to conduct a draft if they do tho. A lot of the fanbase will be jumping up and down over Newton tho just from the hype they've been getting. I'm guessing with Newton we will be getting a lot more of the "Bad Jake" type stuff we used to get from Delhomme.

Yeah, this has all the hallmarks of another "we need to excite the fanbase!!!" draft decision. Your comments also brought to mind that while people rightly praise Cam Newton for how he continued to perform through the adversity of being investigated by the NCAA and mocked by every opposing fan base, we've never seen how he handles losing. Hell, Clausen took a beating in the media at ND and yet continued to perform well there. How will Cam handle being on a team that sucks cock?

ND sucked the entire time Jimmy was there.

Clausen looked good at ND imo, one reason I was a little excited we picked him up in the second round. I would never have imagined how he would have had the season he had last year. It wasn't all his fault with 2 rookie WR's and an offensive line that couldn't pass protect worth a shit. That being said, when he did have the time he couldn't hit a WR that was oepn. I dunno, maybe he was shell-shocked from the beating he took every game. Bad to think he has Carr Syndrome after only one season.
