    If Newton has to sit for a while why take him? Claussen can't compete with Brees,Ryan or Lucas but neither will Newton. I still have doubts about Lucas but there are not that many QB's that are as sucessful as two of these three. The Panthers need a player that can step onto the field first play of the season and make a difference. If we are going to be crappy again and stand to get the overall first again why not wait on Luck who has the most upside and least downside? Draft Marcellus and let somebody else worry with Cam (?????????????????)Newton.

    WTF!!!???

    Why the fuck does everyone keep saying just draft Luck next year!??

    Do people forget how HARD it is to suck enough to get the fucking #1 overall? We had a special kind of awful last year, and even then, it was nailbiting to see if we could land the #1 overall, and if ANYONE thinks we're doing to be able to trade up for Luck, forget about it.

    Luck is fucking GONE.

    First off, despite being the media's crown darling, there are no assurances that Luck will be as good as hyped. He has the right mindset, but let's quit pretending that he'll ever be a factor here. As for "smoke screens", for what? Nobody wants to trade up, and several reliable writers have already opined that Hurney doesn't have time to fuck around with smoke screens. I am not even saying "yay Cam!!" here. Just sayin.....he's comin. If nothing else, TBR will be lively for a while.

    As dumb as we are, Shanahan is probably worse. I think Hurney's preference would be to trade back to 10, but I also think we'll pick Newton if we're stuck at #1.

    It's very possible that Luck's stock will drop a bit, maybe to the point where we'd be reaching for him.
