yeah. Took the guy who fit the NFL a lot more than a guy who doesn't have a skillset that equates to the NFL. To be honest even though I never figured he'd be that great a runner, I figured his impact with Payton would've been better. Seeing Percy Harvin put up good numbers as a hybrid, seeing Hester make an impact, there was room for Bush's skillset.

    yes ! Finally

    FINALLY :
It was ovious to me when I saw this seasons schedule. We are most likely picking high in 2012 so why not wait for Andrew Luck. NOT like we aren't gambling big time on a QB pick this draft . I like the gamble .... Andrew next year and see what we have in the stable already this year. Just saying !!! NOT expecting great things this season anyway !!! Also gives coaching staff a year under belt , start long term after next season (with Luck) NO PUN .

Man I wouldn't mention Dareus in the same sentence as Suh. Suh is the best I've seen since John Randle and Warren Sapp. That's some sick company IMO. Dareus won't bust, which might be enough by itself to make him #1. Dunno. I wouldn't, but I won't be pissed if we pick him either.

This year's #1 is just another high draft pick. Salary-slotting aside (not that it should be ignored), any of 5 players could be selected, none of which is worth the #1 overall draft pick. Including Dareus.

But Dareus was my pick long ago and I'm sticking with him, though I've been trying on Cam Newton of late. Newton has the wow factor - which the Panthers desperately need - but he simply ain't ready. Dareus would be a solid selection, just another high draft pick, and the Panthers move on to the third round.

It's funny to see how that entire draft has shaped up. Really, Williams hasn't been "great" either. Lot of guys who we thought might be great have either been ok or just terrible.

Lol, I keep hearing this, but really- the schedule isn't that fucking bad. Let's stop shitting ourselves running around the town like it's on fire. It's an average schedule. We suck, that's why it seems so terrifying. Fuck, facing the Lions with Clausen at the helm is terrifying.

It's not an average schedule. That said, no NFL South team has finished last two years in a row. I think we will be the first, but who knows.

It's not all that tough, either, and as far as that goes, I believe we rank right in the middle as far as schedule difficulty. It's not an awful schedule, it really isn't. Our division is what makes it the worst, and we're not going to get away from that.

It's a delicate division, but the Panthers have no chance. Best we can hope for is a good draft and development from the 2nd & 3rd year players.

Not being one who follows college ball closely I do not have the knowledge to judge individual players who are coming out. I do however follow the draft every year and I think you can glean something from all the hype. One thing I have learned is that they always hype up a QB to be the #1 pick. Most of the time the guy is not worth the number one pick and the lists you can look up have him rated in the late teens or twenties as a prospect. I think that is what has happened this year.

Add to that the fact that Newton would not even be in the discussion if Luck had come out early and it is pretty easy to see he is a product of draft hype and not deserving of the #1 pick based on his own talent.

I really hope we do not draft Newton, unless we end up trading down and taking him later on. He is probably good value at #15 or #20. Chances are someone will gamble on him early, probably us.

I much prefer Dareus or even one of the top corners.
