    Everytime newton speaks I cringe. Ever since I saw his hiesman speech, talking about coming out of his mothers womb, I just haven't been a fan. Yes he looked good in college but it's obvious he's not ready to start in the NFL. By the time he'll be ready Clausen will have 2 yrs in the league and Newton will still be learning "French". Clausen will be better next year and probably will have a better career than Newton.

    poon, JC may never reach that starting caliber. He just isn't looking like a natural leader. Missing that field general quality . .. no swagger. One of the best things about Jake was his leadership ability. I'd say that between gruden and smitty lil' jimmy got neutered. Not sure he had balls at ND either though.

    Maybe but Cam's not better. He reminds me alot of Culpepper. Clausen should have at least another year to prove himself.

    Maybe someone can do Cliff Notes for the playbook. The strike combined with a huge playbook isn't going to help ANY QB.

    OK, so i saw the full version today after what was floating around yesterday.

    Yesterdays was obviously edited down to make him look like a dumbass who coundnt memorise a play and a gangster...oh no... a black man said the word gun, hide your kids, hide your wife.

    Gruden has done a fair job of exposing each QB weakness, or at least what they will have to work on. He also knew prior to asking the question that Auburn dont use long verbal calls. Just like when Bradford came out the whole O looks to the sideline for the call. So yeah, playcalling is gonna be a step up for him, something we all already knew. What was he supposed to do, tell chizik he needs something more complicated so he can prep for the pros?

    At the end of the day you saw what you wanted to see. Either a dumbass QB that has no chance of grasping an NFL playbook or an extremely talented athlete that displays leadership that other players gravitate too.

    I thought it interesting the first vid that made the rounds didnt have the chalkboard bit. There are some that may criticise his rhetoric, but he took/made notes that were legible and clear, something that even in my field i find very telling.

    And reguarding CHUDs 900 page playbook.

    Isnt it based on Coryells system, a simpified method of calling plays, the tree route and all that stuff.

    Mags, you know all about this stuff, right?
