Reading the "negatives" on this guy is one reason I am concerned. I think that he will be in diva form...thinking of himself....not put in the work to be an elite QB in the mold of Manning or Brees. And I think he will be quick to jump ship on the first opportunity...not to mention that his dad can now meddle without worry

Wow, tough but seemingly fair analysis of Newton.

fuck who he is. What worries me are the words "spotty accuracy".

I mean, it's amazing how easily people have distracted themselves with who he is, because he can throw the ball a long way, but just write off whether or not it gets to where it should go.

We're not going to draft him. It's a smokescreen, and he doesn't even fit our offensive scheme. Buffalo will trade up and we'll take Dareus, Peterson or Green, or Washington will and we'll get Jones, Amukamara or Fairley.

    Whats our offensive scheme?
Do you expect Rivera to come in and mirror what Fox did?

No, but I do expect an offense similar to San Diego with more rush attempts. It won't be empty sets with a qb running around trying to make plays with his feet.

our offensive scheme is based on timing, quick throws without protection, and establishing a deep passing game while exploiting intermediate routes. A zone based power running scheme.

That's why WR is in the mix. We need a Vincent Jackson type. Smith is on the downside of his career, Lafell looked more like a possession reciever and Gettis isn't physical enough.

Pretty sure that no amount of collective fan "worry" will influence Hurney's decision. I used to worry about this type of shit, until I realized that I have no control over it.
