Me neither. I'm a "we need a fucking qb, period" guy. It seems most of the argument against a qb is the higher risk and learning curve. The good teams don't get in these situations because they have a good qb already, then wait for one to fall, then groom that guy for a few years. We don't have that opportunity. At some point we must take a risk and go acquire a potential franchise guy.

I'm just saying Dareus is my first choice... I wouldn't be mad if we traded down and ended up taking either Fairley, Amukamara, Jones, Peterson, Green, Gabbert, Locker, ... in that order. I still don't want to reach for a QB and I don't see WR as a need, especially if Smitty plays, but they all have huge upside... nobody provides the guarantee.

sorry meat... newton is the facepalm pick of the draft imo

I was ready for Luck. The options available are not as good. You have to be more than present to win.

that's fair. Nothing's guaranteed. I think the guy has the lowest downside and as much talent as anyone.

Yeah and I'd be OK with Dareus, but much less excited about football.

We have no QB. CLausen, imo, did not suck because of the system. He sucked because that's what he's good at. Moore choked, and isn't even under contract.

Our passing game was so fucking bad last year that I actively rooted for Jimmy to get hurt and for our team to lose. It was beyond horrible. It may have been the worst offense ever in history. Far worse than Delhomme, who caufht the suck, ever made it look.

If we can get a quality Vet qb - not grossman - but a palmer, a Bulger from 2003, a hasselbeck from 2005, then I'm slightly less bummed about football.

Cam Newton gets my dick hard for football. He gets my dick hard for football if he's the #20 rating on a board and we pick him first. Marcel Dareus + Jimmy Clausen / whoever / whoever does not, no matter when we pick.

So I'm balls deep for Newton.

I think a first round pick has to produce the first year. He has to help immediately.

The first round pick has to be a guy that can make an impact on 3rd down. That player will most likely be a DT, WR, or CB.

I don't know if Newton sees the field his first year.

If we can't trade down and pick up a veteran or at least a 2nd round pick take Dareus. He would definitely be a force to reckon with on 3rd down whether collapsing the pocket or stuffing the short yardage run.

This basically rules out ever drafting a qb round one. UNLESS the team drafting has such horrible qb's that even Newton would help immediately.

    1-100, our current qb's are about 5. Newton might be a 20.

Better now. May be much better in 3 years.
