Zeller has the skills and smarts to be a good off the bench player in the pro's. Needs to add more strength and work on his game like most college players but I could see him hanging around the NBA picking up a check for 8-10 years as a role player. Plumlee... not so much.

Yeah, that didn't exactly turn out as Coach K envisioned it.

Henson, physically really needed to come back. He would have gotten beaten up by the NBA players. Zeller has probably put on 40lbs of muscle since he arrived at Chapel Hill

I think Zeller and Plumlee both have a chance to be a back up big man in the NBA but neither of them is going to be a star or probably even a starter. Why come out early if you are not pretty sure you are going to be ready for a decent career. Guys like Irvin and Barnes almost have to come out since they are in line to be lottery picks but some guys are better off waiting.

I read somehwhere that Plumlee was thinking about coming out early so his brothers could get more playing time. If true, he is a total moron.

Irving, and agreed on Plumlee and Zeller. Neither will ever be al All-Star in my opinion but both should contribute. Zeller > Hansborough

If you are top 5 in the draft it is stupid NOT to go to the NBA. Being set for life is special and one can always go back to college, not that they'd need to.

Conversely, if I'm not mistaken Barnes family is financially well off so money isn't the only reason to leave. Some of the players come from nothing and need to leave to support family and assorted deadbeats. Barnes isn't one of those. See Andrew Luck for instance.

Also this year is a bit different. Very good chance there's an NBA lockout this year. These young kids declare, get drafted, and sit out while not getting ANY money. I'm actually surprised as many are going pro. It would be a good year to stay in college and let the NBA collective bargaining get worked out.

I can see that. Probably the same reason Hansbrough stayed all four years. Guess it can also have something to do with other players coming out this year versus who may come out next year.
