I have not watched a full NBA game in a long time either. I would like to get interested in the Bobcats but they just wont make it possible. Jordan should change their name and remake them.

Gerald Wallace was the only player you could really root for and he is gone now. I understand trading him cause he was all they had that could get them some draft picks but it certainly did not help make them watchable.

Yeah, I'm sure a name change is all that's needed to get the doors full.

He's dumping salary left and right, if he spent $20 mil for a name change after that I'm beyond done.

Bobcats getting rid of Wallace was a bad, bad move :( :( . . . The wheels on this season basically fell off at that point. I would rather be in the playoffs vs. talking about who the Bobcats might draft in 2 more months (and remember folks, the NBA Draft Lottery hasn't been nice to us).

I would much rather be in the playoff hunt (and get booted out by Boston or Orlando, so be it!!!!) vs. being 2-3 years away from being worth a flip (see Cavs, Raptors, Clippers). Im more intersted in having a competitve team on the court (and a couple of pretty good players, like Wallace & Jack) vs. one huge name player and being stuck in the 25-30 win range. How many extra season tixs were sold when Felton & May were here (Im sure that was more of marketing vs. basketball move by Bob Johnson). Getting Stephen Curry might sell a couple of hundred more season tixs to Davidson grads, but thats it.

A name change would generate money. Think of all the merchandise sales it would create, especially if it is something good. It is not a cure all but it would help. I think one reason the Hornets were successful at first was the popular colors and logo they had.

I doubt it. Plus it would go further to alienate the fanbase that they do have.

The sooner they can put Bob Johnson behind them the better and to me the Bobcats were named after the owner at the time.
I say they bring back the old ABA Cougars name.:cucumber:

DJ White had a good game against Boston. We all focus on the draft picks we got for Wallace but White and Cunningham may turnout to be solid players too. I would be starting White over Diaw if I were Silas.

If changing the name is meaningless like you believe, how would doing it alienate the miniscule fanbase it has now?

The name needs to be changed. Now. Period.
