Gabs shouldn't have the slow start Newton would. Mechanically he needs less work and he has a higher capacity for quick thought and learning per the Wonderlic.
Ceiling is obviously lower and hard to explain the middling production.

@SoftliSTL Ricky Proehl, now coach for Carolina Panthers, will run routes for Blaine Gabbert's private workout on Saturday.

Bradford was possibly worth the risk. No way any qb in this draft is worth it.

Take Dareus, sign a veteran QB.

That is what I say as well. Bring in a veteran QB and let Pike and Pickle learn on the bench. Maybe one of them turns into something. Even if we draft Gabbert or Newton we still need to bring in a veteran QB.

    ha.
I did read from Don Banks that he was there. Given the roster of other guys that should catch from him, Proehl at his age and time away is still much better.

Gabbert compared to Ryan and Bradford at pro day. Said to be clearly ahead of Newton.

Trade starting to look possible. Maybe Cincinnati or Buffalo will trade up. We walk away with a second rounder and Dareus or Peterson.

Then again, I have to say that Gabbert intrigued me today. If....nah.
