I'm starting to feel like I did when oil hit $4+ and was what finally popped the Bubble. People on the financial channel who usually do nothing all day but talk up Wall Street are talking about some heavy shit. The Japan economy has been weak for twenty years and now they are printing yen like they were dollars. No more buying US debt and they are surely going to want to cash in some of those chips. Plus there is no way to get the major tech stuff out or even made in some cases for a good while. Several guru's are saying this is bad for World recovery and China will come out the winner.

No doubt it's bad for the world economy when the world's third largest economy is in shambles. The fact everyone else is in the crapper or just barely recovering certainly doesn't help matters. As far as the talking heads on financial channels, pay them no mind. By the time they report, anything they say has already been incorporated into stock prices.

Maybe on some things but Everyone is in black hole country now. By the end of yesterday the Dow had lost everything they had gained since the start of the year. America = going sideways.

Not really worried about the Dow's recent movements as it was caused by short term events/emotions and not based on a wider market funadmentals. Case in point, the Dow is UP 163 pts as of 10:30 this morning. I may be worried if I purchased individual stocks such as GE or any insurer/reinsurer, but I don't so daily fluctuations rarely concern me. I do agree with you though that the eathquake couldn't have come at a worse time as it seemed the US, if not the world, was beginning to come out of it's slumber. See today's jobs report, etc.

Watching daily Market fluctuations can give you gray hairs, etc., tremendous anxiety.
