    Q: Mel Kiper had Blaine Gabbert as the No. 1 overall pick in his latest mock draft. If you were the Carolina Panthers, would you go with him or a defensive tackle?

    A: Harry: My sense throughout this offseason has been that Gabbert would be the No. 1 pick. Gabbert is the best quarterback in this class and it's a quarterback league. Carolina needs someone at quarterback to compete, especially in its division. It faces the Atlanta Falcons (Matt Ryan), New Orleans Saints (Drew Brees) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Josh Freeman) twice a year. If Carolina doesn't have a quarterback, it's sunk. To me, he has to be the Panthers' pick.

    Shefter is absolutely right!
    even if we take a DT or DE at #1 we are still not any better because we have Clausen as out QB!

    Does anyone really think Gabbert is going to start as a rookie and be successful? We just went through a year with a rookie QB starting......

    I don't but then I don't think Newton is either, interesting though that more and more "draftniks" are showing Gabbert ahead of Newton.

    I did see Gabbert had a 42 wonderlic score, anyone seen Cam's?

    Hell I DON'T WANT Newton, but if I have to pick between Gabbert and Newton I pick Newton.
