Well, they are kind of in a partnership because the players get 60% of the revenue after the owners get a $1B cut. And the owners are now asking for an extra $1B, so it's really not unreasonable for the players to ask for them to open their books before taking a cool billion off the table.

It's only a partnership til the shit hits the fan and the owners get pissed.

Then the players are employees again.

Your employer didn't promise you a percentage of his revenue stream.

But if he had, I am sure you would just sit there and take it as he told you to go fuck yourself and take what you get instead of actually showing you the revenue that was part of the deal.

After all, if you even ask to see you are uppity. Like those Mannings.

Just because they share revenue doesn't make them partners. It is not a corporate partnership.

Jerry Richardson should STFU. His franchise is the laughingstock of the league and he is to blame for it.

    no lockout

From what I'm reading there's not likely to be a lockout. The owners have another option, which is far better for their purposes. It is to declare a bargaining impasse. They can then say, here's the deal...more or less take it or leave it. The players then have the option to strike, or play under the owners' deal until court's resolve the dispute, which could take years. That's what happened in 1987 and it took six years to resolve but they played football in the meantime. The only way there's no football is if the players strike, and they would lose money and look like villains for depriving fans of football, so not very likely. The link below explains better.

I still don't understand where you're getting this logic. HOW is this better for Richardson?
