Xanax and IBS I have problems with anxiety and IBS. Hand in hand they go I am sure. I was in the hospital for diverticulitis last year and had acidic stomach something awful. I went to a gastroenterologist and she did the upper and lower scope. I am 36 years old and she said I literally had the insides of an 80 year old man. I take Xanax XR and Prevacid and my stomach does just fine. Whenever I get off the Xanax, my IBS comes back and so does the diverticulitis. Anyway, the Xanax works wonders for my stomach and IBS. Yes it is addictive, but it just depends on the type of person you are. I have gotten off Xanax 3 times but I always went back because of my stomach, not withdrawals. Hope this helps.

Augment-en is the better alternative but there are natural ways too.I know that valerian capsules can be useful, also kava Calms Forte, Seredyn and Rescue Remedy are natural alternatives.
