ACC

Thanks a whole fucking lot dook. Let's not pretend that I need a reason to hate you but now you just made it so I have to fucking listen to grid drone on about the fucking big east.

I blame sly personally and all fucking dokies in general.

While I will miss the ACC when it inevitably folds, I was just making conversation on a dead board.

edit: I was going to post that before Duke lost but I didn't feel like feeding trolls. Now I don't really give a shit.

It's nothing that is imminent obviously. But this summer there was a lot of talk about Super Conferences. Hell the Big 12 almost collapsed this summer and was saved by Texas agreeing to remain in the conference.

With the Big East poised to be the 'basketball' conference and the SEC poised to be the 'football' conference and both looking to expand (not sure what's going on with the Big East basketball-wise who can keep up with that mess) that doesn't leave a lot of room for the ACC.

Now, I'd prefer my conferences be traditional in that every member play D1 hoops and football, but there's no denying that the Big East basketball conference is strong as hell and only getting stronger. Is it a huge stretch to imagine Duke joining (and even dropping D1 football?)

Not a huge stretch to me anymore, unfortunately. I don't see room for the SEC to expand to 16 teams without stealing from the ACC. Whether or not it actually happens is anyone's guess, but I'd imagine what went on last summer as just a taste of things to come.

 

Why not? Year after year they are very inferior....They could stand playing for 5-10 years in the SoCon and try again to the ACC once they're on a better competition level.

 

Or they could hire black Santa, cheat, and pay their players like UNC.

 

Or they could hire a black stripper, pay her to dance at a team frat party, then get accused of raping her embarassing the whole school. Oh, wait a minute, somebody's already done that.
