needs to disband. Basically two teams (one really) and a bunch of garbage.

Move Wake, NC State, Fla. State to the Big South; GATec, Miami and Clemson to the SWAC; BC, VA tech, Maryland and Virginia to the MEAC.

Put Duke and UNC Charlotte-Chapel Hill in the Big East, replacing DePaul and South Florida. Eventually they'd be able to compete. I think. Maybe make it a five-year probationary period and if they're still struggling, ship them to the Atlantic Sun Conference.

It is because there are no good coaches.

K and Gary are it. I think Bennett can be.

Oh for the days of K, Smith, Lefty, Cremins, Jimmy V, and Holland.

you make a good point. the only way this would work is if UNCC-Chapel Hill Satellite Campus fired Roy and hired Williams. That would restore at least a hint of a rivalry between Duke and the tarheels and give UNC a fighting chance in the Big East.

Or the Big East could absorb them all and then instead of having 6-9 teams lose the first weekend of the NCAA tournament every year, they could have 10-15.

No doubt. Duke hasn't gotten embarrassed by a Big East team like that since they last won a National Championship.

To try and turn the troll into a serious discussion...

This is a REALLY bad time for the ACC to be down in basketball. In light of the Super Conferences, there are dwindling few reasons for one of the 5 Super Conferences to be the ACC.

It's easy to imagine a scenario where the SEC picks off the football schools (Miami, FSU, Clemson and GT) and the Big East picks off the basketball schools (Duke, UNC, Maryland, and someone else.)

Much harder to imagine the ACC expanding to 16 teams with 4 of those coming from either the SEC or Big East. If the ACC isn't relevant in football or basketball, how will it remain relevant in the upcoming change in the NCAA?
