Tyrus Thomas is out for 2 months with a torn miniscus. Bad break for us. Really hope they don't use that as a reason to tank the season and deal Wallace.

tank the season cuz of tyrus thomas? eh, i don't really think they'll miss him too much. i mean, beyond that he's a live big body, he's not really vital to this team.

edit: btw, it was soooo nice to see those down screens set for henderson at the end of the philly game. that was a bread and butter play for the hornets with david wesley easily 3 or 4 a game. i keep hoping they'd run that more often cuz it's such a great play and henderson seems really comfortable hitting that midrange shot. hell, even wallace has hit on it.

There were already rumors of us dumping Wallace and we were already VERY thin at PF. Tyrus isn't a super-star or anything but he was vital to our bench/6th man rotation. Now we have an undersized Boris, and undersized Wallace, an undersized Derrick Brown and an undersized Najera playing 4. Big loss imo, especially with Diop already gone. The team doesn't have money to bring in new players either, with 13 guaranteed contracts. Bonnell said the NBA denied a roster exemption slot saying it wasn't their fault that our team was overloaded at 3.

Shitty game tonight too. Wasted a good first half effort with a crummy 3rd. Jack has a real attitude problem recently, doesn't bode well if we don't start playing better. ATL has a good team but we just didn't even compete in the second half.

edit; Tank was a bad choice of words. We can't 'tank' the season cause we don't even have a 1st round pick. We can, however, dump salary which we might do if MJ doesn't think we can compete for the playoffs. Without Thomas it's going to be even more of an uphill battle.

I think he's convinced himself that he's a superstar. So now he's trying to make superstar type plays that he doesn't actually have the talent to pull off. Some of the passes he been trying lately are beyond stupid.

No doubt, he started rifling these passes into the post like we have an early all-star Zo at center. Nazr can catch them but Diop and Kwame just fumble them around. He started doing that before his triple double but once he got that TD he's really been trying some ill-advised passes. His rep with the refs has made it so he has to get really hammered in the lane to draw a foul, and that's frustrating. But he made that bed honestly. He's not a great jumpshooter and he can't get calls when driving, it's tough for him if his outside shot isn't falling.

Poor shooting, bad passes, bad attitude toward the refs. Not a winning combo. Yet his teammates and coaches tell him to continue shooting. Hopefully he works his way out of his slump.

so is this recent? i haven't really followed the cats too closely till silas took over. i had never been a jackson fan, but when he came here he seemed to elevate the team. but that was just from casual observation. for as long as i've been watching him, he's had a couple good games and the rest of the time he's just destroying any offensive flow.

Kwame Brown has been a pleasant surprise so far this year. Hopefully he has turned a corner and can continue to contribute.

With all the draft picks we've wasted we deserve to have Kwame develop into a good player. He's been a lot of fun to watch. He's huge too, didn't ever imagine he was that big. I missed the game last night but he had 13 and 18 boards, including tying a Bobcat record with 11 rebounds in the 3rd quarter. He credits Oakley and Silas for helping his game but was careful not to throw Coach Brown under the bus, reminding reporters that he began the season with a severe ankle sprain. Class guy.
