Well I see that a change of scenery did not result in a change of play. There he was time and time again getting handled one on one and his constant failure to contain lead to huge Aaron Rogers runs. Still a worthless piece of crap stealing money by pretending to be a football player. No sacks and two or three tackles:painful. At least he played well enough in the regular season to get us a good compensation pick. Now do what you are used to and sit your ass down in an easy chair and watch the Super Bowl

Now now, he DID deliver a fantastic helmet-to-helmet shot personal foul to extend a GB drive.
Overall, another day in the life of Big-Lazy.

It's looking like Peppers is not a big time game player. He doesn't "up" his game in crunch time. That makes the sting a lot less. Yeah, and being all smiles with your old coach after you just found out you're not going to the Superbowl? Not cool.

the effort thing has always been an interesting argument. It's hard to say, because he obviously gives 100% and does superhuman things.

    While in space.

Working against a tackle, he never developed the moves I figured he would, never got as strong as I figured. Never became a great technique player. Is that effort? Is there an effort component if not? Certainly it's a different type of effort, to bust it to catch a RB on the other side of formation than to bull an OT when you're possibly tied up.

Solarte had an interesting point today about letting Peppers overextend in pursuit.

Hey Pep - it still sucks to lose, doesn't it? Within the next year or so, the Bears fans will start to question why their paying him so freaking much to play for them.

JP is an enigma. I saw him all over the field too many times to be sure he takes plays off. But he sure can't seem to shed blocks very well if the block is solid. Is it lack of effort or lack of killer instinct? In space he's a threat and sometimes his speed can get him around a block, but once engaged, he's often neutralized.

If you could put the mental attitude of a Beason or Urlacher type guy in Pep's physical abilities, you'd have the guy we all hoped Peppers would be - and then some.

Urlacher made everyone else on the Bears look average today.
