If I had known Luck was going to stay in school I would have been rooting a lot harder for us to win some more games or at least not rooting for the Broncos and Bengals as much.

Fairley is probably the best pick we can make but it sure does not seem like he will be worth the huge contract he will command.

i could tolerate a player that's a bit of a dirtbag but no part of some of that shit he pulled was "borderline dirtbag." not even "borderline" criminal. just flat out criminal. he shoulda been suspended from football for the season after a couple of those plays. i have lost all and any respect for the Auburn team after seeing that. even if the NCAA didn't suspend him, his coach should have. a bit of a dirtbag is spitting in someone's eye or stepping on someone's hand or kicking someone in the face. mean and nasty is making a crushing but fair tackle or biting a hunk outa somone's ear. Fairley is way beyond that. if we draft him, i will disown the Panthers.

My opinion of fairley has nothing to do with him being from Auburn (although Auburn does suck). Fairley is a low life dirty thug. He is a nut grabbing, eye gouging cheapshot artist. This guy will end up on ir at some point in his career from a "payback" hit.

it comes from too much armchair gm-ing fueled by video games and wishful thinking. unless one of these qb prospects turn into peyton jesus brady there is no realistic trade down scenario. and if in fact that does happen and there is the next coming of qb christ, trading down would be the stupidest move we have ever made, by far.

it doesn't look like we're going to be able to get a QB to compete with in our division, so why not get someone to take out theirs

I am not sure the plan should be to try to "out quarterback" our divisional opponents anyway. Certainly we need a massive upgrade at QB but only because that helps us put the best team on the field. The Jets have done pretty well with an average QB. If Fairley turns out to be the Revis of DTs then he will be a great pick.

evidently the rules are diff in college pertaining to slamming the qb. so, its not as dirty as you may think.
and nobody around here was complaining when kj was doing it to vick every time he got a chance.
