Not sure why he'd be a great hire... didn't Norv basically call all the plays in SD?

college championship as a player and as a college OC. Created a bunch of great Miami TEs after being one. Winslow, Franks, Shockey, etc.
Was OC with Cleveland that one good year. Got cut with Crennel's staff, went back to work with Norv as assistant head coach, so got to help gameplan and playcall with one of the better offensive coaches in the league.

Smart enough to let his contract expire, so he could get promoted. Otherwise he'd be stuck there.

To be fair, a cardboard statue of Marv Levy could call a better game than Davidson

it's very rare that a top assistant from the #1 offense comes from the same team as the Dc from the #1 defense in this day and age of permission to talk to coaches and blocking guys from promotions. Not that Chudzinski is the best offensive mind in the NFL, but he's about as good as anything available and is already connected and familiar with our new head coach.

Hope we don't waste too much time and sign him. DUring his tenure in Cleveland, he had their offense ranked 8th overall.
