    "Elsewhere, Darin Gantt, the Panthers' beat writer for the Charlotte Observer wrote on his Twitter account this morning Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell is "a very serious candidate here, and possibly a favorite" for the Panthers' head-coaching job.
    That's the job that, from what I've heard and what I've thought about myself, has made the most sense for Fewell in my mind. They're not a big-market team, so they might be out of the running for some of the bigger names out there that are demanding huge money. And they're not looking for a new stadium, so they won't need one of those bigger names for bargaining reasons. They can just sit back and hire a good coach. And since they're showing genuine interest, Fewell might be most intrigued by them.
    We'll see how this develops moving forward, but I've been telling folks to keep a strong eye on Carolina moving forward. And yes, for those asking, John Fox would certainly be high on the Giants' list for defensive coordinator if Fewell leaves."

    I wouldn't read too much into it. They have to make it clear that they're legitimately interested since Fewell made a stink about how he's tired of being a Rooney Rule interview.
