    I've found that pretty much anything by Richard Marcinko, the ex navy seal, is a pretty good read.

    Be warned, don't get hooked on the series (supposed to be 7 books).
    Only 4 have been written, and it's been 6 or so years since the last one.
    AND, the author is old and fat, so he'll die before he finishes it.

    Hopefully the series will do well on HBO and the show writers will finish it.

    I looked at McDevitt today - looks like epic fantasy stuff - I like the genre, but get disappointed a lot. Is this guy like Terry Brooks, Raymond Feist, or Terry Goodkind (like) or Robert Jordan/Anne McCaffrey/ (dislike)? I just get my books from the library or e-library, so it's not gonna cost me anything, I just hate trying to get into something for a few chapters and it never really does anything for me. I loved the George R.R. Martin books until I figured out the fat fuck was never gonna finish them. :mad:
