How is it only close? He selected Walsh his first year as coach, seems that's the exact situation you described.

Any legitimacy to the Luck/Harbaugh package deal or is that just rumor/gossip. Any Links?

Didnt Harbaugh start for us one game?

Harbaugh dressed but never played. It'd be a better story if he'd started, sure.

It's legitimately possible that it happen, but it depends on both wanting to leave. Harbaugh says Luck is the best player he's ever seen, or something like that, and Luck's statements at the heisman award ceremony suggests that he's waiting to see what Harbaugh wants to do. It's a very unique opportunity to transition over together.

Carolina also has to want him, but he's good, he's dedicated to running, he's fiery but not irrational, he'll not demand high dollar assistants since he'll have half his staff with him already. There's also the assumption that Carolina won't want to push/replace Clausen.

I thought JC contract was friendly enough for that not to be a problem. Alot less Wienkeish.

Luck being a sophmore has until mid-January to decide if he wants to enter the draft or not... I think that's the rule.

Now, should he declare for the draft, not hire an agent, doesn't he still have the option to pull out of the draft later?

Fox is under contract in March 11, technically...

CBA won't be done by mid-January, and if Harbaugh is going to be the coach of the Panthers, it won't be by then.

Cincinnati could end up with the #1 pick, Marvin Lewis also in the final year of his contract... if Harbaugh/Luck can be had as a package deal, Cincinnati could get both with a Panther win and they lose out... McCoy starting today btw...

This season has been so bad, I want something for this season... give me something to look forward too... the #2 overall pick at this point just isn't good enough.

What if Fox wins in Carolina, takes the Cincinatti job, and he drafts Luck?!!!

If for whatever reason, Luck refuses to play here, doesn't come out, etc, what about Vince Young? He's gone from the Titans. At least we'd have a veteran. He's not great, but better than anybody we have now.
