    CLiff Lee

Okay lets first give complete Kudos for the Philles and their management team for being the newest and smartest team in the league. They are smart, they are aggressive and they are the class of baseball over the past 5 years and look like they will have a decade run as the class of the national league. Onr can argue if they have compiled the best staff ever. There was the braves of Glavine Maddux SMoltz Avery that did have three lock hall of FAmers but its the era we live in to wax poetic on the new kids on the block. And by the way how many World Series did that staff win. Answer.... That would be one biys and girls. And in some circles they are considered one of the most underpeforming abseball teams of all time. But reality is the Phillies roster offensively is way superior to those days of Syd Bream and Mark LEmke etc. ON to CLiff Lee...
First things first. HE isnt even the best pitcher on his team. "doc" has been and will continue to be for years to come. Secondly and more importantly I cant listen to the Cliff LEe form Arkansas is the down to earth humble guy from Arkansas who took less money and is the greatest guy in the world. Its just complete and utter bull shit. Lets examine the deals a little closer. The yankess deal came in at a total of like 153 million with the player option. The Rangers deal was somewhere close if u believe the reports. Now lets look at he phillies deal. 5 years 120 million guarenteed. u than throw in the player option for the 6th year if he pitches 200 innings the last 2 years of his contract which is 27 million. Hmmmmmmmmmmm lets do some math here people. thats 153 versus 147.. so the reality is if he earns his contract in the last 2 years mr i gave up 50 million only gave up 6 million.. thats right 6 million. Okay ill take the worst case scenario he doesnt pitch 200 innings in years 4 and 5.. than he has a 12.5 player option.. so worst case is 153 versus 132.5. so thats 19.5 million not 50 not 40 bot 30.
Cliff Lee went to the Phillies for what i can tell is all the usual reasons. One is the money was comparable all be it not the max deal. 2. He knows its easier to pitch in the national league especially compared to the AL east. 3. ANd i havent heard this at all> he must love playing for Charlie Manuel. Remeber manuel was in Clevland when him and sabbathia were kids in this league. there u have it bitches. the truth form the PEddie man peace

There is also a 13.5 million dollar buy out in his contract that the Phils can use. Also the final year is tied to ANY injury to his pitching arm. If it aint sound they can say bu bye

Yeah, I agree its easier to pitch in the National League?????? Oh yeah, Lee also won his Cy Young in 2008 pitching in what league .......... American! What league has won the last 2 out of 3 World Series .... National! While I agree that there are some pretty shitty teams in the National league, please don't forget about all (?????) those power houses in the American! Personally I could care less about all the BS about his contract and such, I'm just glad he's a Phillie! By the way, the Mets are already out of the chase!
