Newton scares me. I would be afraid to take him that high. Of course Luck scares me too but not as much.

Unless we get bowled over with a trade offer we almost have to take him. Clausen has proven nothing, and I haven't heard anyone say a bad word about Luck. Who was it called him the best QB prospect ever? Hopefully Jerry will blow the moths out of his man purse and signs an offensive guard and DT with a combined weight of 700 lbs of snot spitting anger and work from there

I think Ryan Leaf was one of the best prospects ever also.

It is a crap shoot. Anyone you take high in the draft can end up haunting you. The potential reward with a QB is very high though. If you have a hall of fame QB then you are almost always going to be a playoff team and challenge for a ring.

The other thing that makes me want to draft Luck is the fact that we have a lot of the pieces in place to have a solid team. The OL and running game should be good once again if we can get Otah healthy. Smith, Gettis and Lafell make a solid set of targets. The defense is pretty decent already.

I was thinking there were some concerns about him too? Maturity or something? Maybe not.

If we can get the offensive line healthy again along with a free guard who can block worth a shit as well as a real offensive coordinator, the offense you would thing be a lot better (assuming we draft Luck). The defensive line needs tackles that can produce some pressure and tackle. Michael Turner gashed the hell out of us

Hey we'd still have Clausen as insurance if Luck crapped out :cucumber:

Probably the same people calling Jake Locker a rock solid choice for number 1 overall before he decided to stay another season, and the same people who said teams would be stupid not to take him number one before this season.
